New Trees for Winchcombe School Garden
Thank you to Gloucestershire County Council for their generous support
We were delighted to receive new yew trees for the school garden, to replace those that sadly failed to survive the successive heat waves this summer. We’ve also received a beautiful new greengage (plum) tree and a flowering cherry, both of which promise delicious harvests in the years ahead.
This completes our tree planting plans for the garden. In time, the spring blossom of the fruit trees should look spectacular against the dark green of the yew tree hedge. And of course the apples, plums and cherries from the garden will surely be enjoyed by pupils, staff and local wildlife alike.
We look forward to further developing the garden in 2026.
